What we do

Six programmes that quietly change lives in Kankarbagh and around Patna.

Art & craft training
Programme 01

Art & craft training

A pioneer institution, Tamanna School of Art, has been running under KRRISH since 2007 - dedicated completely to art and culture. Sketching, water colour, oil colour, portrait making, fabric painting, wood carving and statue making are taught batch by batch, along with handicraft, Madhubani and mehndi art.

Music, dance & performing arts
Programme 02

Music, dance & performing arts

Singing, instrumental and vocal classes run alongside western and classical dance under the guidance of experienced teachers. Students appear for the five-year degree course in Fine Art, Music and Dance as the school is registered with Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh.

Education & creative awareness
Programme 03

Education & creative awareness

We create awareness among children through painting competitions, debates, street plays and plantation programmes, because children are the real brand ambassadors of our society and our country. Merit is rewarded with certificates, books and art material.

Women empowerment & skills
Programme 04

Women empowerment & skills

Training for women in computers, stitching, sewing and soft-toy making - a small income of their own, and a reason to step out of the house with confidence. Classes are held at our Kankarbagh centre and are free for widows and single mothers.

Health & eye care camps
Programme 05

Health & eye care camps

Free eye check-up camps and general health camps are organised with local doctors and partner institutions. Visitors are screened, given spectacles at concessional rates and referred to hospitals when needed.

Environment & civic sense
Programme 06

Environment & civic sense

Plantation drives, "Keep Nation Clean" rallies and World Sparrow Day programmes with schools around Patna. Children learn to care for trees, birds and public spaces - and take that lesson home to their families.

Get involved

Two hours a week, or a small monthly contribution -
either one keeps a child in class.

KRRISH has run on ordinary people's support since 2003. Join as a volunteer, sponsor art material, or simply share our work with someone who can help.
